Useful Tools for Affiliates

Last modified: June 15, 2025

Being an independent affiliate means you’re a small digital entrepreneur. As such, leveraging specific external tools can simplify your life and improve your results. Here, we recommend some resources (many free) that complement what Babelix offers you:

Link Shorteners and Customizers

Sometimes, affiliate links can be lengthy or visually unappealing. Using a shortener like Bit.ly or TinyURL allows you to convert it https://test13.babelix.com/?ref=user123 into something like bit.ly/myBabelixLink. Bitly even lets you customize the ending to make it more understandable (e.g., bit.ly/BabelixPromo). This looks better on social media and allows you to track clicks from the shortener’s platform. Other options include Rebrandly and Tiny.cc.

Tip: If you share links in media where people can’t click (e.g., video, podcast), a short, easy-to-remember link is useful.

Graphic Design Tools

Use these to create your creatives or adapt official ones. Canva is king here – a free web platform (with a premium option) that makes it very easy to design Instagram posts, banners, YouTube thumbnails, and more. There’s also Crello (now VistaCreate), which is similar to Canva.

If you have more expertise, programs like Photoshop or GIMP (a free option) offer total flexibility, but Canva is great for beginners. Please take advantage of the logos and photos Babelix provides, upload them to Canva, and combine them with your personal touch.

Free Stock Photo and Video Banks

If you want high-quality visual content to accompany your posts or articles, consider using royalty-free banks like PexelsPixabay, or Unsplash for images, and Pexels Videos or Videvo for clips. For example, perhaps you write an article about dating. On Pexels, you’ll find photos of elegant couples you can legally use on your blog alongside your Babelix link.

Video Editors

Suppose you plan to venture into YouTube or TikTok and need editing tools. In that case, easy options include CapCut (especially for mobile, very popular among TikTokers), iMovie (if you use a Mac or iPhone), or OpenShot/Shotcut on PC (free and relatively simple). For quick, animated designs, Canva also has tools for short videos with text.

Social Media Managers

If your plan involves frequent posting, using a content manager helps you schedule posts efficiently. Buffer and Hootsuite offer basic free plans that allow you to schedule tweets or Facebook posts for specific times. This enables you to maintain a consistent presence without being glued to your screen 24/7.

Meta’s Business Suite (free) allows scheduling for Facebook and Instagram. Scheduling content gives you time to attend to other things while your marketing continues working on autopilot.

Analytics and Tracking

Although your affiliate dashboard already provides metrics on your referrals, you might want to analyze traffic before conversion. If you have a blog, install Google Analytics to see how many visitors reach the pages where you place links. If you use Bitly for links, consult the statistics Bitly provides (number of clicks, countries, etc.). This data can complement the information from your affiliate dashboard and provide you with valuable insights, for example, “Many clicks from Mexico, but few conversions – maybe I should adapt my message for the Mexican audience.”

Communities and Training

Join affiliate or digital marketing groups on Facebook, Reddit (e.g., r/Affiliatemarketing), specialized forums like WarriorForum, or Telegram groups. Sharing experiences with other affiliates (even from other programs) will give you fresh ideas and teach you new tactics. There are also numerous educational blogs and YouTube channels dedicated to affiliate marketing, offering valuable tips (e.g., improving conversion rates, SEO, etc.). Never stop learning; the digital landscape constantly evolves.

Organization and Tasks

If you plan to take your affiliate role seriously, treat it professionally. Use tools like Trello or Notion to plan promotional tasks (e.g., post calendar, content ideas, sub-affiliate follow-ups).

A simple Excel or Google Sheet can also track your weekly work on each channel and note the results. This helps you identify which strategies performed best.

Email Marketing Tools

If you build a list of interested contacts (who have voluntarily given you their email, e.g., blog subscribers), tools like Mautic (Open-Source)Mailchimp, or Sendinblue (formerly Brevo) allow you to send them newsletters in a managed way. You could, for example, send a monthly email with “Babelix News & Dating Tips,” adding your personal touch. Only do this if you are comfortable with permission guidelines and avoiding spam.

QR Code Generators

We mentioned this earlier for offline promotion. Sites like QRCode Monkey or QR Code Generator create free QR codes from your URL. Download the image and put it on flyers, cards, or even your online creatives (in case someone sees your Instagram post on a PC, they can scan the QR code with their phone).

WordPress Plugins (for advanced bloggers)

If you have your WordPress site, specific plugins help with affiliate tasks: for example, Pretty Links allows you to manage and cloak affiliate links using your domain (it creates redirects like yoursite.com/babelix that point to your real link). This looks elegant, and if Babelix ever changes its URL structure, you only need to update it in Pretty Links. There are also plugins for pop-ups, notice bars, etc., to highlight your promotions on your site.

You don’t need to use all these tools, but as you grow as an affiliate, you’ll see that each one serves a function to optimize your work. Start with the basics (e.g., Canva for designs and Bitly for shortening links) and incorporate others as needed.

Finally, remember that your best tool is yourself: your creativity, your knowledge of your audience, and your perseverance. Use these applications and resources to enhance those qualities, and you will see how your affiliate management becomes more professional and produces growing results.
